Bedales has received national recognition from two independent education guides for its distinctive approach to teaching and learning, combining academic rigour, creativity and a strong sense of community.
In The Week’s annual Independent Schools Guide, Bedales was one of three schools highlighted as “best of the best” for teaching and learning, with judges impressed by the impact of the school’s GCSE-alternative curriculum and assessment. Around half of Bedalians go on to study university subjects they had previously taken as Bedales Assessed Courses.
Meanwhile, the Tatler Schools Guide 2027, which profiles leading prep and public schools across the UK, praised Bedales' culture of individuality, creativity and trust. Informed by school visits and conversations with students and parents, the guide highlighted Bedales’ success in creating an environment where students feel confident to take risks, learn from mistakes and pursue their own interests.
The review also highlighted the school's distinctive approach to learning, from the creative arts and practical skills to curriculum innovation and singled out Head Will Goldsmith's commitment to supporting students and their personal development.
