Are you looking to start your career in Human Resources within a supportive and progressive school environment? We are seeking a proactive, enthusiastic, organised and efficient Human Resources Apprentice, with strong attention to detail, to join our team and gain hands-on experience while studying towards a Level 3 HR Support Apprenticeship.

As our HR Apprentice, you will work closely with the Resourcing and Learning Partner, as well as the wider HR team, to support the delivery of an efficient, professional and people focused HR service. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop practical HR skills in our busy boarding school where staff play a vital role in supporting the welfare, safeguarding and education of our students.
You will gain exposure to all aspects of HR, but will have a specific focus on recruitment, onboarding, compliance as well as the offboarding of staff.
Experience & Background
You will be eager to start a career in Human Resources, proficient in IT (Microsoft Office) and a confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills. You must be committed to learning and completing a (fully funded) Level 3 HR qualification.
This role is fixed term from 1 September 2026 for the duration of your apprenticeship training, with the potential to undertake a permanent role at the end of your training should a suitable role be available.
Duties
- Assist with end-to-end recruitment processes, including publishing job adverts, tracking candidates, and generating offers and contracts.
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes including pre-employment checks.
- Manage and monitor the Recruitment and Appointments inboxes, responding to queries promptly or escalating as appropriate.
This post is Regulated Activity.
Hours of Work
This is a full time, full year post, working Monday to Friday.

Up to £26,686 per annum (dependent on skills & experience).

An NVQ Level 2 in Catering is preferred but not essential. We would welcome applications from people who are interested in obtaining this qualification with our support.
Duties
- Preparing and cooking food items to the specifications determined by the Head Chef:
- Being responsible for the provision of meals of excellent standards whilst working within the constraints of the catering budget and to a minimum wastage policy
- Working to high standards of hygiene and basic food hygiene
Hours of Work
45 hours per week term time (includes weekends), usually 33 weeks per annum, plus an additional 240 hours to be worked over the year normally during half terms for deep cleaning and / or pre and post term. The post will be contracted up to a total of 42 weeks per annum.
