Visiting Languages Teacher (German)
Zero Hours

We are seeking to appoint a part-time Visting Languages Teacher of German. The candidate will need to have experience of teaching the current GCSE and A Level German exams. We currently have several students at the school wishing to continue with their German studies on a one-to-one basis. 

From July our current Visiting Teacher of German will be leaving, and the successful candidate will be expected to offer all five students German lessons. The students’ level varies from GCSE preparation to A Level and sometimes there is the possibility of taking on some additional lessons with (semi) native speakers in the run-up to exams.

  • set tasks which challenge students and ensure high levels of interest whilst ensuring relevance.
  • set clear targets, building on prior attainment.

Minibus Driver (part-time)

We are looking for a professional, kind and considerate Minibus Driver (starting in post on 1 September 2026) to drive our students to school in the mornings during term time and make a difference to their day.

Experience & Background

The successful candidate will have experience in a comparable role and will be a reliable and capable individual. With a warm and flexible approach, you will be confident interacting with children. Using your own initiative is essential, as well as being able to work as part of a team. You must hold a full, clean driving licence ideally with the D1 category to drive minibuses in the UK.

Duties

You will be responsible for:

  • Driving a predetermined route to collect students, in a safe manner in accordance with road traffic legislation, the Highway Code and school policies.
  • Ensuring prompt departure in accordance with the minibus schedule to ensure all students arrive on time.
  • Recording accurate passenger registers for each journey.
  • Ensuring students adhere to all school regulations throughout the journey including remaining seated and that seatbelts are in place and in use.
  • Reporting all accidents and near misses to the Health & Safety Manager.
  • Fully complying with vehicle security rules.

Hours of Work

This post works term time only (33 weeks a year) and you will be required to work Monday to Friday 2.5 hours a day starting at 6.00am, every other week.  During term-time, you will also be required to work 3 hours on 12 Saturdays starting at 6.00am. Ad hoc additional hours may be available to cover colleagues or drive students to events and fixtures.

Salary
£3,859 per annum based on the above hours and weeks of work, which is pro-rata of the full time equivalent salary of £28,181 per annum.

Visiting Music Teacher - Singing

We have an exciting opportunity for a versatile and enthusiastic Singing Teacher with a classical background to join our thriving and successful Music Department.

The ideal candidate will have highly effective teaching and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to inspire, empower and motivate students to develop their love of singing and broaden their musical horizons. Essential to the post is a genuine commitment to putting students first and an enjoyment of working with young people.

An inspirational and encouraging tutor, who can motivate students, help them technically build their voices and broaden their musical horizons. Experience of teaching students aged 13-18 would be an advantage and a broad knowledge of repertoire suitable for developing voices in this age range is essential.  The tutor would be working in an enthusiastic and passionate department of highly motivated professional musicians. A team player with good communication skills, you will have an enthusiastic approach in all of your dealings with students, colleagues and parents.

Duties

  • Enable the students to perform musically and to achieve their full potential in music examinations, competitions and concert performances as appropriate
  • Facilitate one-to-one lessons
  • Carry out student assessments and provide written reports
  • Completing any administrative tasks in relation to the post including recording missed lessons

Hours of Work

From September 2026 there may be up to four full days of teaching available which could be covered by one or perhaps two new singing tutors. There is some flexibility as to when the 1-1 tutoring can take place and applicants are invited to provide information on the days and hours of their availability as part of their application.
