Last week (Thursday 26 November) the Global Awareness Committee started what will hopefully become an annual fundraising event: The Hunger Banquet. The idea of this event is that ticket holders are allocated either a large and delicious dinner or a bowl of rice and an apple – or a plain but wholesome dinner – according to luck, just as in real life some of us are born into relative prosperity and others into poverty.
