After leaving Bedales I achieved an English BA Hons from the University of Bristol and Magazine Journalism MA from City, University of London.
I currently work as a journalist for Harper’s Bazaar as a Features Writer / Sub-Editor. I started there immediately after my MA, having written freelance pieces for them, Town & Country, the Guardian and BA High Life (among other titles) throughout my studies. It did take me a few years to settle on journalism as a profession, as I worked as an Assistant Film Producer for a couple of years after my undergraduate degree.
While at Bedales, I won the Sonia de Saxe journalism award and worked on the Chronicle, which were my first two real encounters with journalistic writing and reporting. Without these experiences, I may not have even considered journalism as a career option. I also think Bedales encouraged my love of English literature and the arts, which have been central to the publications I write for.
During sixth form at Bedales, I was working as a model in London at the weekends and during school holidays. This I saw as a fun way to make some pocket money, but when at 19 I was asked to appear on Naomi Campbell’s TV show The Face I jumped at the opportunity. It was a great experience working with some leading supermodels, art directors and photographers, some of whom I have crossed paths with during my writing career.
