Last week the Bedales A and B ski teams competed in the British Schoolgirls’ Races in Flaine. We competed in three disciplines of giant slalom, slalom, and parallel slalom which was a team event. We had a blast and were fairly lucky with the snow conditions despite the bad visibility beginning the GS race. With the help of our awesome coach Marianne Brechu we managed a good day’s training beforehand and felt confident for the race, which is an interesting one due to its ability to accommodate skiers with all different levels of experience with some who had never raced before and others on the GB team. The team did well and ranked 9th out of 48 teams, and individually the combined results for the As were 4th, 16th and 22nd in the U16 age category.
