Pupils who are part of the art scholars group at Bedales Prep School, Dunhurst are excited at the prospect of exhibiting at the world renowned Saatchi Gallery after entering the international Saatchi Gallery Art Prize for Schools.
The prize is open to primary, secondary and sixth form schools from around the world and schools can submit artwork from students between the ages of 4 and 18.
Dunhurst pupils, Jake Scott, Amos Wollen, Ollie Duke, Beckett Shepard, Rhiannon Griffiths, Ruben Alexander and Ruby Rose (ages 12-13) have submitted work under the guidance of Head of Art at Dunhurst, Susan Macfarlane.
Susan said: “Great art comes from personal experience and the pupils pursued their own individual passions and interests in creating the work we submitted. I think their work really represents the spirit of Dunhurst, its artistic values and general ethos.”
A high profile exhibition of the top 20 shortlisted art works will be held at the Saatchi Gallery in May 2017, with winners receiving up to £10,000. You can view the entries at: www.saatchigallery.com/schools/prize
