Over Easter students embarked on a tennis tour, swapping the cold and rain of the UK for the beautiful warm sunshine of Barcelona. We stayed at the Hotel Olimpic which had excellent clay courts on the doorstep. We played two hours of tennis in both the morning and the evening and on some days we were lucky enough to have matches against local clubs, achieving some great wins against the Spaniards. Visits to the beach and the heart of Barcelona were very enjoyable, but the highlight was watching the quarter-finals at the Barcelona Open. We saw four well played matches, one of which Rafael Nadal competed in and managed to win in his home country - some of us were even able to get his autograph. In the evenings we watched the Champions League on TV and enjoyed traditional Spanish food for supper. Overall it was an amazing and highly enjoyable visit.
