Former South African rugby player Thinus Delport visited Bedales on Friday last week where he helped coach the U15 rugby sevens squad. The player, who also used to play rugby union for Gloucester and later Worcester, also spoke to students about being an elite performer and gave advice on building resilience and the necessity of hard work – in sport and in academic studies. Delport, who is the ambassador for Project Zulu, a UK based charity which supports educational projects in South Africa, ran practical sessions in the afternoon for both Prep school pupils and Senior school students in his capacity as a Sky Sports Living for Sport Ambassador.
