What kind of further study have you undertaken since leaving Bedales, and have you gained any qualifications?
After leaving Bedales, I did a BA in Philosophy, World Religions and Theatre at McGill University, Quebec. I then did a CELTA and went to teach in Brazil for three years. Currently, I am studying for an MA in Applied Theatre at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London.
What kind of work are you currently involved in, and how and why did you come to be doing it?
As part of my MA, I am currently facilitating drama classes with the not-for-profit organisation, Women for Refugee Women, and Rewrite, an organisation working with new migrant teenagers. I am also the producer for Iraqi theatre company Red Zone Theatre. I am currently planning a trip to Brazil where I will be facilitating Theatre of The Oppressed workshops in the Favelas of Sao Paulo.
Has Bedales helped you in getting to where you are now, and how satisfied are you with what you are doing?
I'm very satisfied with what I'm doing, and I think Bedales really helped me engage with my creative self.
Are there any other interesting activities or occupations that you have been involved in since leaving school?
I've been studying Japanese for three years now.
