Preparing fully for next stage of education
Bedales students are set to get a head start on their A Level and university studies in the second half of the Summer Term as they take part in the school’s bridging courses.
Students in Block 5 (Year 11) and 6.2 (Year 13) can choose from a range of bridging courses designed to prepare them for the next stage of their education.
A bridging courses brochure outlines the courses available, with options from a range of disciplines and to suit all interests – from Art, Design, Theatre Studies and Music, to Psychology, Maths, History and Sport.
Students in Block 5 will take a selection of bridging courses linked to their Sixth Form programme choices to smooth the transition between GCSE/Bedales Assessed Course level study and A Level, while continuing their involvement in sport, 3i – Bedales’ Able, Gifted and Talented equivalent – and co-curricular options.
Students in 6.2 will select courses which will give them valuable exploration of university-level thinking as part of a well-balanced programme that supports their individual needs. They will also have the opportunity to complete key aspects of their A Level courses that may have been missed due to COVID interruptions.
Head of Bedales Magnus Bashaarat said: “These bridging courses ensure that we will finish the academic year – and for our 6.2 students, their time at Bedales – in a celebration of one of the things that Bedales does best - learning for learning’s sake. I hope our students enjoy choosing from the wide range of courses on offer, which I am sure will hold them in excellent stead as they move on to sixth form and university."
