Raising fabulous funds for FitzRoy
Bedales students recently joined in a 'Fabulous for FitzRoy' fundraising day when students and staff dressed up in their finery - colours, sparkles, bangles and glitter - to celebrate FitzRoy's frontline heroes and all those they have supported during the pandemic.
FitzRoy, a national charity based in Petersfield supporting people with autism and learning disabilities, is one of Bedales' partner charities. Recent support from Bedales has included participating in their ‘Around the World in 80 days’ fundraiser and providing video recordings of music for their virtual Carol Concert. Prior to lockdown student volunteers helped at FitzRoy’s ‘On Track’ day centre in Petersfield and Rural Skills Unit at the Sustainability Centre, East Meon. A team of 65 students, parents and staff runners also competed in the Great South Run as a fundraiser.

Emma Harrison of FitzRoy commented: “We are extremely grateful for the ongoing support of Bedales. The pupils and staff always go the extra mile to fundraise for us. The past year and a half has been the most challenging time FitzRoy has ever experienced as we worked hard to protect the people with learning disabilities and autism that we support whilst also keeping our frontline staff safe.
