What makes a good teacher at Bedales Pre-prep?
Someone who sees themselves as part of a team, both with the adults and the children at Bedales Pre-prep, and the ability to think on their feet, be flexible, open to new ideas, and have an enormous amount of fun.
What are you trying to encourage and instil in the children?
To be kind and considerate to others, take the initiative, be independent, not to be afraid to make a mistake, not to give up and to be a good team player.
Apart from your teaching role, what else do you get involved with at the school?
I am the Science Co-ordinator at Bedales Pre-prep. In our Carousel in Year 3, I run a cooking session, teaching children baking and cooking skills.
In your opinion, what makes Bedales Pre-prep special?
The creative approach to our teaching and learning, and the freedom to allow children to develop at their own pace.
Who or what inspires you?
People who are willing to stand up for things they believe in and are willing to do something about it – Malala springs to mind.
Tell us something not a lot of people know about you.
When I was in my early twenties I lived and worked in Sydney, one of my jobs was making pizzas at Sydney Cricket Ground. I spent many hours watching cricket, which is where my passion for cricket grew.
