What makes a good teacher at Bedales Prep?
Someone who is creative, adaptable and someone who loves teaching children who love being at school!
What are you trying to encourage and instil in your pupils?
I think it is important that the pupils have a sense of feeling part of a school community and instilling in them to work for the community to build a better place, a sentiment reiterated by Bedales' founder, John Badley, in the school motto: “Work of Each for Weal of All".
Apart from your teaching role, what else do you get involved with at the school?
I love taking the children on fixtures every Wednesday. It could be a sunny day in June or wet and cold day in January, but regardless of the result, the children always give 100% and represent the Prep School impeccably.
In your opinion, what makes Bedales Prep special?
Dunhurst is a special place to work. The pupils and staff ensure that it is a pleasure to come to work every day and I am proud to work here.
What is your best memory of Bedales Prep?
Where do I start? There's so many to choose from! Sports Day and fixtures hold great memories. Events like the Dunhurst Dash and Santa Run always put a smile on my face. Groups camps that I have been on ensure that you see children achieving things out of their comfort zones.
Who or what inspires you?
My children and family inspire me on a daily basis.
Tell us something not a lot of people know about you.
I have four false teeth!
