What makes a good teacher at Dunhurst?
Someone who is passionate about learning, has a good sense of humour and has a lot of energy.
What are you trying to encourage and instil in your pupils?
A love of learning and an inquisitive mind.
Apart from your teaching role, what else do you get involved with at the school?
I am a Block 2 tutor which involves me helping seven or eight Block 2 students through their last year at Dunhurst. It’s great seeing how the students’ attitudes mature over the course of the year. Although it is always a sad occasion to see them leave in July.
In your opinion, what makes Dunhurst special?
The relationship that the staff have with the students.
What is your best memory of Dunhurst?
Working backstage during A Christmas Carol, helping my stage crew to turn a four poster bed into a table during a blackout.
Who or what inspires you?
My family, especially my granddad.
Tell us something not a lot of people know about you.
I play the bagpipes and have performed at several music festivals around the world.
